A Semi-Organized Rant On Tiffany Haddish's Latest Songs
Tiffany Haddish's New Singles

DISCLAIMER: Sorry this one is out over a week after the last one, but just bare with me here, I'm busy.
If you’ve been alive in the past decade, you’re bound to have heard of Tiffany Haddish. Of course, this is probably from her wildly successful acting and comedy career where, I must say, she shines. She’s a very talented comedian, and she undoubtably deserves all of the fame she’s seen. Most of you probably don’t know her for her music; mainly because she simply isn’t a musician. I recall that she sang in a few songs for the soundtrack of the second LEGO Movie, but she was taken in as an actress for good reason. Now, it’s hard to say if it’s that that’s turned her on to singing and rapping, but if it was, then shame on that movie even more.
For this next part, I’ll be acknowledging her two recent solo songs “Do Our Thing” and “Too Much”, only because they seem to have some correlation. These songs were also both released on April 9th. Particularly with the album covers likely being apart of the same photoshoot. I’ll be breaking each song into their good and bad parts, perhaps even in two separate paragraphs.
In the first few seconds of her first song “Too Much”, we’re introduced to chaotic saxophones and hi-hat patterns that sound poorly mixed and mastered. This already tells you what you’re in for throughout the next three minutes and eight seconds. This goes on for around ten seconds or so and then we see some almost off-beat kicks over the same pattern until the 22-second mark. Now, we’re introduced to a whistle or flute and what seems to be the songs actual drum loop pattern. Honestly, this scared me the first time that I heard it. Right before she comes in quietly singing, I realize that she’s just tricked me into giving her one more play on Spotify, seeing as we’ve just passed the 30-second mark. What seems to be the chorus arouses a lot of confusion with its quiet sound and her strange and confusing singing.
After this the rest of the song is just about the same but looped and I can only assume with different words said. It seems like there’s a deeper history behind these two songs, but I feel that researching it too much would ruin the magic. Overall, I can’t seem to find a single positive about this song. This next song by her, though, “Do Our Thing” isn’t as bad. The mixing and mastering is still as confusing as ever, but it feels like a wannabe party song. The thing is that it still feels like it was trying to be something, while “Too Much” was just confusing.
The only reason why this song has nearly 30 times the plays of the last song is due to its Snoop Dogg feature. His verse felt a little like a generally bad verse compared to his good music, but it could just be the beat and how little it compliments his rapping. Overall, there isn’t much to be said about this song other than that it’s confusing as all hell. In conclusion, I’m very unsure of the history of these songs, namely because of one uploading of “Too Much” to YouTube in 2019. Though, whatever the history is, these songs are complete trash, and I just thought that everybody should know.
