Jason Mraz - Look For The Good (Review)

Jason Mraz - Look For The Good (Review) 6/28/20 I don't usually talk politics, but at some point, we must point out that the world is an unpredictable shit-storm of insanity. In 2020, we've seen more recent racism murders, the COVID-19 pandemic, Kobe Bryant's death, new ebola breakouts, and aliens probably landing next month. Sometimes when I lie awake at night thinking of all of this, I just hope for a superhero to spread a message of positivity to the world. Someone or something to tell us that everything is going to be okay soon. Luckily, our boy Jason Mraz decided to step up to the plate, being one of the only mainstream artists brave enough to drop an album this year. I grew up on Jason Mraz's positive attitude, great acoustic pop, and wonderful songwriting. On June 19th, however, he threw all but his positive attitude right out the window with his latest LP "Look For The Good". Let's see how it turned out. In 2018, Mr. A-Z droppe...

Digital Editions, New Ninth Gen Games, and More: Fanboy Roundup #2

Image
June 24th, 2020: Fanboy Roundup #2 6/24/20 DISCLAIMER: I'm planning for these to all be focused on certain general medias that I like to discuss. Today's topic is video games, and I also want all of these are going to come out on the 24th of every month. Topic #1: New Crash Bandicoot Game Fans of the Crash Bandicoot franchise had been waiting for a new installment in the series since what seems like forever. They seem to have been waiting since 1998’s “Warped”, which was the final official entry in the series. The series has seen a plethora of spin-offs from racing games to a notoriously bad party game. The platform Crash series, though, got somewhat revived with a completely remastered compilation of all three official Crash platform games. A little less than a week before this was written, the box covers for “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” were leaked on some website. This news went and came so quick I never even had time to research where they came fr...

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher (Review)

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher (Review) 6/20/20 Female folk-pop icon Phoebe Bridgers wowed me with her latest singles that were intended for a new album, particularly her song "Kyoto", which made it onto my top 20 songs of all time within nearly a week. I've been hyped for this album ever since she announced it with said song. Today, we will finally be reviewing this album. Note that I have not had much time to listen to it and take it in yet, but my hopes thus far are quite high; mainly because of the singles. Phoebe Bridgers also has some amazing talent and a beautiful style; both of which I want and expect from this project. First we see the eerie and instrumental track "DVD Menu", which actually sounds like a DVD menu track. It's pretty dark, orchestral, and definitely not pop music. Right off the bat, I see that just into this little bit of the album, it's dynamics seemed a little messed up. Knowing the pretty sad yet beautiful tra...

RandomCrazyNews #1: May-July 2020

Image
RandomCrazyNews #1 6/17/20 RandomCrazyStudios, or RCS for short, is a multimedia brand. This means that we release artistic media in multiple different forms, and we have some news to share today. The first news is our new Instagram account “@randomcrazystudios”. We’ve announced a few things on there, and filled everyone in on what we’ve accomplished so far in 2020 with our movies and whatnot. First comes our latest full-length short film “Kaboom!”. It’s a sci-fi action/adventure musical rock opera short film set in a royal kingdom in space. Before Prince Carter Clein marries the royal princess, she gets abducted by Galacticus; an evil villain with intentions of marrying the princess himself. Next comes our latest movie sketch “The Fly”. It’s only around two minutes long, but it still makes for a fun little time. It follows just a regular man going about his morning when he sees a fly terrorizing him and his day, and things get more and more fun as the tension grad...

Gorillaz - (The First Half Of) Song Machine, Season One (Review)

Gorillaz "Song Machine" Reviews Thus Far 6/13/20 Ever since late January, notorious virtual band Gorillaz masterminded by Damon Albarn has been releasing a series of tracks called “Song Machine”. These songs are well produced songs without any real link to one and other. Every song seems to shine a light on one or two English indie artists by featuring them and having the song itself focus on their vocals. The most recent example of this was up-and-coming British rapper Octavian. The official Song Machine tracks have all come out one either the last or second Thursday of almost every month. With exception of the latest song which came out on the second Tuesday of this month. Today, I will be reviewing each song in a relatively brief paragraph with a number rating out of ten with a five word description summary. The first song being “Momentary Bliss”; released on Thursday, January 30th, 2020. The song features pretty new English rapper slowthai; known for his uni...

Mt. Joy - Rearrange Us (Review)

Mt. Joy - Rearrange Us (Review) 6/9/20 DISCLAIMER: Happy 6/9 day haha lol funny number lmao! Last Friday, on June 5th, American Indie Folk-Rock act Mt. Joy released their long-awaited sophomore LP: Rearrange Us. This album certainly contributes to another rant I’m planning about too many singles being released before albums, so I’ll discuss its eight out of thirteen singles at a different time. This album opens with the powerful and astounding ballad “Bug Eyes”. The singing and lyrics are touching and undoubtably beautiful. This, right here, is how you start a damn album. Afterwards comes the adorable little soulful groove that is the title track “Rearrange Us”. It seems to set the happy and more upbeat yet slow tone that a lot of the singles carried along with them. Afterwards comes the Jason Mraz-style interlude “Have Faith”; a cute little electric and very sweet short song. Next comes “My Vibe”, which is a pretty good song, but probably my least favorite on t...

A Semi-Organized Rant On Tiffany Haddish's Latest Songs

Image
Tiffany Haddish's New Singles 6/6/20 DISCLAIMER: Sorry this one is out over a week after the last one, but just bare with me here, I'm busy. If you’ve been alive in the past decade, you’re bound to have heard of Tiffany Haddish. Of course, this is probably from her wildly successful acting and comedy career where, I must say, she shines. She’s a very talented comedian, and she undoubtably deserves all of the fame she’s seen. Most of you probably don’t know her for her music; mainly because she simply isn’t a musician. I recall that she sang in a few songs for the soundtrack of the second LEGO Movie, but she was taken in as an actress for good reason. Now, it’s hard to say if it’s that that’s turned her on to singing and rapping, but if it was, then shame on that movie even more. For this next part, I’ll be acknowledging her two recent solo songs “Do Our Thing” and “Too Much”, only because they seem to have some correlation. These songs were also both rel...
